PC-ABS injection molded housing

Material focus

A balanced choice for demanding enclosures

PC-ABS combines impact resistance, heat deflection, cosmetic quality, and practical molding performance for complex housing designs.

Why PC-ABS

Designed around the realities of electronics and automotive housings.

PC-ABS is preferred when a part must handle impact, elevated temperatures, and demanding surface requirements without sacrificing manufacturability. Our engineering team optimizes tooling for PC-ABS flow behavior to reduce sink marks, knit lines, and internal stress.

01

Impact resistance

Supports robust covers, bezels, brackets, and interior components exposed to handling or vibration.

02

Heat performance

Grade selection and process control help meet application-specific heat deflection requirements.

03

Aesthetic flexibility

Gloss, matte, textured, painted, printed, and color-matched finishes support OEM appearance targets.

04

Process control

Centralized drying and material-aware molding parameters protect structural integrity and consistency.

Technical capabilities

A production platform sized for prototypes through high-volume programs.

We support engineering prototypes, bridge production, and production tooling with injection machines from 50 to 800 tons.

Processing window

Stable processing starts with dry material and grade-specific settings.

PC-ABS is hygroscopic. Our centralized drying systems and controlled process windows help prevent hydrolysis and preserve material performance before injection.

Safety performance

UL94 V0

Flame-retardant PC-ABS for electronics housings.

We process UL94 V0-rated PC-ABS for applications requiring enhanced fire safety. Process control helps prevent excessive shear or heat from degrading flame-retardant additives and supports the required certification profile.

Surface and texture options

Build the right cosmetic finish into the tool and process.

  • SPI A1–D3 finishes: High-gloss optical surfaces through matte finishes.
  • VDI textures: Precision EDM texturing to hide gate marks or improve grip.
  • Painting and printing: Secondary painting, laser marking, and pad printing for Pantone, RAL, and OEM branding requirements.

Manufacturing workflow

Engineering decisions are made before production begins.

Our workflow is designed to identify design risks before steel is cut, reducing avoidable tooling changes and protecting launch schedules.

01

DFM analysis

Review CAD files for wall uniformity, draft angles, rib placement, and gate locations based on PC-ABS flow characteristics.

02

Mold design and tooling

Build molds in P20, 718H, or NAK80 steel for production requirements from 10,000 to 1,000,000+ cycles.

03

T1 sampling

Provide initial samples for dimensional verification, fit testing, and design confirmation before full-scale production.

04

Production and assembly

Support inserts, ultrasonic welding, assembly, inspection, and final packaging for completed parts.
